Josie Champion-Garcia

Josie has over 35 years of dance experience and background as a director in a broad array of theater and stage productions. At the age of 14, Josie began her studying in San Antonio with her brother "El Curro" and his wife Teresa Champion with Los Flamencos de San Antonio. During her 20 years with Los Flamencos de San Antonio , Josie achieved the title of principle dancer and had the opportunity to direct and choreograph their productions.

At 17, Josie performed with Jose Greco, Sr. dancing "La Petenera" at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. Four years later, she had the honor of performing with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, under the music Direction of Sara Caldwell, and Dance legend Dance Director "Ciro." Also, having the opportunity to dance and study with "La Presy", who now resides in Granada, Spain. Three years later, she danced and performed with Las Vegas Queen "Charo," touring with her Company under the Direction of Felipe de la Rosa. Performing in numerous celebrity benefits and charity functions. Josie also appeared in an HBO special with Charo as headliner and famous comedian Dom DeLouise, John Davidson, Jerry Lewis, Danny Thomas, Sheilds and Yarnell and Eddie Rabbit to name a few of the many Celebrities Josie has shared the stage with. After 5 years with Charo, she returned to San Antonio to pursue her career as a dancer and continued to teach and choreograph with Los Flamencos de San Antonio.

Presently she owns her own dance studio and continues to teach and direct her own performances with her professional dance company.
